For Labor Day we went to my parent's new house and hung out with my parents and Robyn. The Richards came over for wine Friday night, we went to dinner with Ronny and Cricket on Saturday night, and on Sunday Linda Manning came over for a little bit. It was very relaxing weekend and we didn't end up doing much besides lounging around the house. The house is looking great - I can't wait until it is all finished!

Seven Month Pictures/Labor Day Weekend
Here are Grey's 7 month pictures. He is such a happy, happy boy! He just loves to play and crawl from the living room into the kitchen chasing Spencer. Spencer has gotten much more "friendly" now that Grey eats crackers and biscuts. If Grey is sitting on the ground, Spencer will either sit real close to Grey and wait for him to drop his food or just grab it out of his hand all together. If Grey is in his high chair, Spencer is sitting next to him waiting for food to fall. Grey thinks it's great having Spencer sitting next to him and Spencer thinks it's great having food given to him! I guess it works out for both of them :)

....and he sleeps
So the first night of "tough love", Grey cried for 42 minutes. I know this because I was counting the minutes and was just about to go give him a bottle when he finally fell back asleep. The second night was much better and he only cried for 10 minutes. The third and fourth night he slept through the night - yeah!! It has made all the difference in the world for Dan and I - I'm loving it!

The Non-Sleeping Prince
So last night was not an easy one. Grey had his bath, got his p.j.'s on and was almost asleep after drinking 8 oz but decided when we were laying him in his bed he was not ready to sleep just yet. After a few nights of him fighting about going to sleep, I decided to just lay him in his bed, put some music on and see what would happen. I stayed in the room although he didn't know it. After rolling around and banging on his crib for about 20 minutes, I finally decided to try the bottle one more time. He drank another 4 oz and passed out.
So after drinking 12 oz one would think he would be able to sleep through the night without wanting another bottle, but no, not Grey. He woke up around 2ish, I think, to have another bottle (I was exhausted and don't like to look at the clock because then I realize how few more hours I have before I have to get up). After sucking down another 4 oz, he started wailing because he wanted more. Instead of milk, I gave him some water in his bottle which did not make him happy. After another 15-20 minutes of calming him down, he finally went back to sleep.
At 5:30ish (again, I didn't really want to pay attention to the clock), he woke up because he wanted another bottle. I let him cry/whine for about 10 minutes before I rolled out of bed, turned off our security alarm, and stumbled downstairs to make him another bottle. He usually only wakes up once in the middle of the night so I didn't have a "back-up" bottle ready. He ate again and passed out immediately after he finished the bottle.
So 7:00 am rolls around, Dan gets up and goes to work out before work after getting zero sleep. I attempt to fall back asleep but finally drag myself out of bed around 7:30 am because Grey usually wakes up around then and I was going to try to get dressed before he woke up. An hour later, I hear "talking" in his room. The sleeping Prince finally wakes up at 8:30 am!! I go into the room and his is just smiling and playing like he had a full night of sleep, meanwhile I was waiting for the coffee maker to finish making the coffee so I could wake up. What a night! I think I'm going to have to try "tough love" on him tonight and let him figure out he doesn't need to have a bottle in the middle of the night. I'll let everyone know how that goes....I'm not looking forward to it but hopefully he will start sleeping throughout the night soon!
Whose tired?? Not Grey!

My Two Teeth
Grey has two bottom teeth now! His first one came in and a week later the second popped up. I tried to get Grey to smile for the camera so everyone could see his new little grin, but he doesn't like the flash and always makes a terrible face when I snap a picture. I was able to get this one of him right before he chomped down on his block....you can kind of see them here.
Besides getting his two teeth, he has started crawling everywhere and getting into everything. As I type this, he is crawling into the dinning room to check out what is in there. He loves to crawl to Spencer to pet (or grab) him, but Spencer does not like it and gets up and moves every time :) Ok, I hear Grey trying to get into something he probably shouldn't - got to run.

My New Big Accomplishments This Week
So as of this morning, Grey has started crawling....at least army crawling. We were sitting in the living room when Grey eyed the computer (his favorite toys are the computer, remote control and our cell phones). He got on all fours, started rocking back and forth, and then dropped and started army crawling towards the computer. I knew it was a matter of time before he would start crawling but I was so proud of him!
He also started saying "Da Da" this week too! It makes Dan very happy when he says it - it's so sweet to hear! He babbles all the time but he started making real "word" noises and then started saying "Da Da" over and over again.
On top of all of this, Grey cut his first tooth. You can see and feel the tops of it. I'm just glad it doesn't hurt him anymore. It makes car rides and night times much more pleasurable :)
This has been a very eventful week!
