The Non-Sleeping Prince

So last night was not an easy one. Grey had his bath, got his p.j.'s on and was almost asleep after drinking 8 oz but decided when we were laying him in his bed he was not ready to sleep just yet. After a few nights of him fighting about going to sleep, I decided to just lay him in his bed, put some music on and see what would happen. I stayed in the room although he didn't know it. After rolling around and banging on his crib for about 20 minutes, I finally decided to try the bottle one more time. He drank another 4 oz and passed out.

So after drinking 12 oz one would think he would be able to sleep through the night without wanting another bottle, but no, not Grey. He woke up around 2ish, I think, to have another bottle (I was exhausted and don't like to look at the clock because then I realize how few more hours I have before I have to get up). After sucking down another 4 oz, he started wailing because he wanted more. Instead of milk, I gave him some water in his bottle which did not make him happy. After another 15-20 minutes of calming him down, he finally went back to sleep.

At 5:30ish (again, I didn't really want to pay attention to the clock), he woke up because he wanted another bottle. I let him cry/whine for about 10 minutes before I rolled out of bed, turned off our security alarm, and stumbled downstairs to make him another bottle. He usually only wakes up once in the middle of the night so I didn't have a "back-up" bottle ready. He ate again and passed out immediately after he finished the bottle.

So 7:00 am rolls around, Dan gets up and goes to work out before work after getting zero sleep. I attempt to fall back asleep but finally drag myself out of bed around 7:30 am because Grey usually wakes up around then and I was going to try to get dressed before he woke up. An hour later, I hear "talking" in his room. The sleeping Prince finally wakes up at 8:30 am!! I go into the room and his is just smiling and playing like he had a full night of sleep, meanwhile I was waiting for the coffee maker to finish making the coffee so I could wake up. What a night! I think I'm going to have to try "tough love" on him tonight and let him figure out he doesn't need to have a bottle in the middle of the night. I'll let everyone know how that goes....I'm not looking forward to it but hopefully he will start sleeping throughout the night soon!

Whose tired?? Not Grey!

Look at my crazy bed head. Can you tell I went to sleep with wet hair?

Sounds like he may be going through a growth spurt?!! I would definitely try tough love, the sooner the better..otherwise, they will wake up for food for ever...it doesn't seem to mess up their day..as you saw!! Grey is too cute..can't wait to see those teeth!!
